Open Studios - Somerset Art Weeks - Trip 1
Had a wander around Somerset Art Works Art Weeks on 21/09/2014 with Beccy Swaine from SAW. Lovely to see lots of great artwork and creative artists around the county. I’ve lived in Somerset for 14 years and I hadn’t realised how many talented artists working in this beautiful county. It certainly helps if your friend has a car to drive around the remote picturesque places in Somerset! Somerset Art Weeks certainly encourages you to look outside the town you live and see what’s out there; you’d certainly be pleasantly surprised! This year Somerset Art Weeks focuses on ‘open studios’ where visitors get the chance to see artists work and exhibit in their studios. I have been working with SAW for over 3 years now and this has been the first year I’ve managed to go and visit Art Weeks as every year I had been at university this time.
In this particular trip Beccy and I had visited the West Somerset region stopping in places such as Bishops Lydeard, Watchet, Minehead Dunster and Dulverton. A splendid day indeed!
